Backside of Timpanogos

Mt. Timpanogos: the crowning jewel that sits upon the city of Provo. This mountain has always been a dream to climb up. From its steep faces to its giant cliffs, Timp is a treasure that cannot be ignored. So why not start climbing parts of it? This week we decided to make a crazy journey. We drove to the base of Timpanogos at midnight and decided to sleep in the back of Coben's truck. I had to sleep under the plywood cover, and Coben slept on the opposing side. It was crazy up there! It was snowing kind of hard, and we did not know what to expect the next morning. Nevertheless, we kept with our plan and ending up waking up at 4:40 in the morning to start hiking.

And so our journey began. We started hiking up the side of one of the peaks facing Timp. At first it seemed relatively easy and we managed to hike up the slope with our poles in hand. However, as we kept pushing forward the mountain became steeper. We then took our skis off and used them as wedges to make our way up to the peak.

After what seemed like forever, we reached these little peaks, after peaks. However, we finally reached the true peak and fell on it with exhaustion. Finally after four hours, we had reached our destination. Now came the fun part: SKIING DOWN!
